Engineering tends to be a lot of math and numbers, but often detailed analysis writing can be used to discuss findings or research. In fall 2021, I worked in a group of four to write a report on a high-entropy alloy. This report was worked on over a long period of time, and our writing was sourced from many scholarly articles. This is the most analytical piece that I have been a part of during my time at UMass.
A second example of analysis writing in engineering is from fall 2022. In my engineering writing class, I wrote a interdisciplinary article summary about an article on Transportation Engineering and Safety. This writing shows my ability to take information from just one source and put it in my own words, compared to a multi-source research paper as with the previous writing.
